Chrysanthemum aka funeral flowers?

Someone once said that they don't like having flowers in the house because it reminds them of funerals. Me, I love having flowers around me, be it in my home, in my tiny office cubicle or in my garden.

Funeral flowers? To me, they are just beautiful flowers.

Some flowers to brighten up my cubicle.

They are a few days old
but I don't mind.

A new day, a new beginning

With every new day comes a fresh new start, a new beginning.. and life goes on. In day to day living, choices have to be made and whether its the right or wrong choices, we have to live with the consequences and its simply not possible to totally avoid  making wrong choices. Anyway, I believe that for most of us, we learned to make good choices from the experiences of making bad ones. Let us not beat ourselves down when we messed up, but instead, learn from our mistakes and grow from there. Do not be afraid of making mistakes. Life can be filled with uncertainties but do not let this cause us to be fearful as fear keeps us from really living and thus robbing us of life's many blessings. As the saying goes "A life lived in fear is a life half lived."

Life can be fleeting

"THUD!" Did somebody just banged on our window? That couldn't be possible as we were on the second floor. Unperturbed, I just continued with my work as my startled colleague went to check. "Oh, its a bird!" she exclaimed as she pointed to some feathers on the tinted window. Upon further inspection she discovered a bird lying motionless in the playground below and informed us. That aroused my curiosity, so I peeked out the window and saw what seems like a heap of black feathers. "Its a crow," someone stated but I knew it wasn't one as I can recognize an Asian Koel when I see it. Quickly I went to its aid but upon reaching I was saddened to find that it had succumbed to its injury, instant death from  the forceful impact I assumed. It laid there with a broken neck.
Gently I picked up the lifeless body and took it to my backyard to give this beautiful creature a proper burial.

This is the second bird I had buried this year. Earlier this year, it was a male Olive-backed Sunbird (Nectarina jugularis I think). It flew straight into the ceiling fan and....
Life can be really fleeting.

Live life in reality

Often times that we can't see things clearly and other times we can see nothing. But there are times when everything just comes into focus, but times like these are rare. Mind you, these are just my opinion though. Come to think of it, certain things do looked more pleasant when out of focus. Still, I would prefer to see things clearly even though I may also see all the flaws and blemishes. Life is to be lived in reality (even if it is unpleasant) and not in a dream.
